Continuing in our commitment to provide quality services to our students in a timely manner, the Student Financial Services is pleased to announce the opening of a Resource Center in C-109.

Students may walk-in or schedule an appointment by calling 718-482-7218 to complete their FAFSA and TAP on the web. Staff will be available to answer your questions.

The Student Financial Services provides you assistance with FAFSA and TAP online applications, along with additional information, financial aid counseling, and assistance in completing your forms. The office conducts regular daily workshops to help you with your financial aid applications and operates a web lab to allow you to file your FAFSA and TAP on the web.
You can also find the answers to your questions about completing the FAFSA at the following US Department of Education website: http://www.ed.gov/studentaid/apply.html or e-mail FederalStudentAidFAFSA@cpsemail.ed.gov

FAFSA on the web is immediate. In contrast, the response to a paper application takes 6-8 weeks. When you file your FAFSA on the Web, you will be able to apply for TAP on the Web as well.

  • Gather your (and your parent's if required) 2007 federal and state tax returns, W2s and other financial records before you begin.
  • Non-tax filers should make sure that total 2007 payments from untaxed sources such as Public Assistance and social Security Benefits are reported on FAFSA Worksheet A.
  • Dependent student(s) should have their parent(s)' Social Security number(s) and Date of Birth (mm/dd/yyyy)
  • Date parent(s) were married/separated/divorced and/or disabled (mm/yyyy)
  • While on the FAFSA Confirmation Page, click on the link for New York State residents located just above "Your estimated Expected Family Contribution (EFC) is:" on the FAFSA confirmation screen to call up TAP on the Web.

Students with a FAFSA PIN will also have the opportunity to:

  • Receive an estimated award upon completion of the on-line application;
  • Check the status of financial aid applications (federal and state);
  • Check on loan account information;
  • Complete Pre-Loan Entrance Counseling for Direct Loans;
  • Complete Pre-Loan Entrance & Exit Counseling for Perkins Loans;
  • Access Selective Service Registration Record inquiries;
  • Access Financial Aid history (transcript) via the National Student Loan Database System (NSLDS); and
  • Access Veterans Administration Information.

    Keep your FAFSA PIN # in safe place. With your PIN#, you can go on-line to:
    » Renew your FAFSA
    » Make corrections on your application

    If you do not have a PIN#, you can apply for one by clicking on the following link www.pin.ed.gov
